BEWARE OF FAKE PUBLIC NOTARIES OF DELHI GOVERNMENT
The tenure of Public Notaries notified by Government of NCT of Delhi had expired in December 2016 and Delhi Government has not taken any steps for fresh /renewal of appointments of the Public Notaries.
Since January 2017, all Public Notaries in Delhi are functioning illegally under Delhi government, this being detrimental to the interest of the Public at large. The documents so notarised during this period are illegal, fraudulent and not valid under Indian Laws.
The Public Interest litigation regarding appointment of New Notaries by Delhi government has been filed by Icon Of Humanity law Firm through Bhupesh Narula Advocate as Writ petition Civil -1043/2018 wherein the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi has directed the Delhi Government to ensure that no person, who is not authorised under the provisions of Notaries Act, 1952 is permitted to function on their behalf.
The Hon’ble High Court has further directed the Delhi Government to take prompt steps for rectification of this Deficiency of appointment of Public Notaries.
